New Jersey State Championship

MEET INFORMATION

  • USA Powerlifting sanction # NJ-2024-04

  • Date: April 26-28

  • Location: NJ Convention and Expo Center, 97 Sunfield Ave, Edison, NJ 08837

  • Meet Director: John Dalessio  

  • ABOUT: This is a USA Powerlifting sanctioned meet produced by American Barbell Productions. This is three day event with one platform and a 190 lifter cap.

  • This meet is open to all current New Jersey USA Powerlifting members.

  • Wait till after November 1st to purschase your USA Powerlifting membership. Membership

  • Membership must be purchased online to register.

  • This meet is only for New Jersey residents. Lifters must have a valid NJ ID ( driver license, state or county ID) for check-in. If you are a youth or teen your

    parent/guardian can show proof.

  • Collegiate lifters from out-of-state according to rulebook “Out-of-state college students have the option of registering in either their home state or the state in which the college is located (if residency in their college’s state has been established).” Must have student ID and NJ address on USA Powerlifting membership card.

  • There is no qualifying total needed for this meet.

  •  All USA Powerlifting rules will be followed and enforced. Please review the rulebook. It has been updated.

  • This is a drug tested meet. Anti-doping policy and information can be found here. We test a minimum of 10% of total lifters.

  • American Records can be set

  • Entry Fee: $140 for 1st division and option 2nd division is $35

  • There are no refunds.

  • Purchase Protection is available to purchase on the registration form for $1. Highly recommend it. Terms and Conditions

  • Once the roster is posted, lifters cannot add or change divisions!

  • Coaches/handlers: $20 per session and must register online before meet.

  • Spectator passes will be sold online for $15 per session or $20 at the door

  • Each lifter will be allowed one coach in the warm up room.

  • Entry deadline is April, 12.

  • If you are under 18 you must bring a parent or legal guardian to weigh-ins.

Weight Classes

  • Men 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 67.5kg, 75kg, 82.5kg, 90kg, 100kg, 110kg, 125kg, 140kg, 140kg+

  • Women 44kg, 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 67.5kg, 75kg, 82.5kg, 90kg, 100kg, 100kg+

Divisions

Teen 1 (14-15), Teen 2 (16-17), Teen 3 (18-19),  Junior (20-23), Open (14 -+), Master 1 (40-49), Master 2 (50-59), Master 3 (60-69), Master 4 (70-79), Master 5 (80-89)

Awards

  • Open Division: 1st - 3rd all weight classes

  • Teen 1,2,3: 1st - 3rd all weight classes

  • Junior: 1st - 3rd all weight classes

  • Masters 1,2,3,4,5: 1st - 3rd all weight classes

  • Best light/heavy male and light/heavy female raw lifter by DOTS scoring. If there are 10+ equipped lifters there will be best lifter.

             * light weight men up to 82.5kg - heavy weight men 90kg - 140+kg / light weight women up to 60kg - heavy weight women 67.5kg - 100+kg

Team Registration and Information



Teams competing must be registered USA Powerlifting teams with a NJ registered address. 

  • Teams can register their clubs here with USA Powerlifting.

  • Lifters must be NJ residents.

  • You can't combine raw and equipped lifters.

  • Teams will be a combined men and women with lifters that are registered in the raw open division.

  • Lifters must be registered in the open division for points to count..

  • Once lifters are listed on team roster they can not change weight classes.

  • Team is allowed 10 lifters spread throughout the weight classes with no more than two in a weight class. Example: Two 90kg lifters.

  • Each team is allowed two alternate lifters that can be substituted any time before the start of the first session weigh-ins on Friday.

  • Lifter point scoring will be 1st - 11th place 12,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 points - placings after 11th place will be 1 point

  • Top 5 lifters on each team contribute points toward team scoring points

  • Team awards 1st - 3rd.

  • In the event of a tie, the team with the most 1st places wins. If it still results in a tie it goes to the most 2nd places and so on.

7-8:30am - weigh-ins for all women up to and including 67.5kg weight class

9am - lifting starts

Friday Afternoon Session

12pm - weigh-ins for Women 75kg to 100kg+ and men up to and including 67.5kg

2pm - lifting starts

6:30 - Awards

Saturday Morning Session

7-8:30am - weigh-ins for men 75kg weight class

9am - lifting starts

1:30pm - awards

Saturday Afternoon Session

12pm - weigh-ins for men 82.5kg weight class

2pm - lifting starts

6:30 - Awards

Sunday Morning Session

7-8:30am - weigh-ins for men 90kg, 140 and 140kg+ weight class

9am - lifting starts

Sunday Afternoon Session

12pm - weigh-ins for men 100kg, 110kg and 125kg weight class and up

2pm - lifting starts
